I just received my secondary for University of FL and was shocked to discover that there is zero essays. All they really ask for is your SAT/ACT scores. Is there any other secondaries that have no essays. Our lives would be 100x less stressful if all schools were like this!

That's because UF rules. I've had a few schools without essays so far:

NYU, Cornell and Rochester. From what I hear, Boston is the same. Jefferson has one essay "If there is any additional information you would like to provide, please include it in the box below." I'm going to write something there, but you don't really have to, I guess.

GO GATORS!!

University of Mississippi just wanted me to account for every year of my life and that's all...

I think Cornell had something on "why Weill?" I think it was 200 words.

Oh yeah, you're right. Sorry about that!

I actually hated when they didn't have essays to fill out. It was like...put your name on here and give us $80 bucks. At least make us feel like we are getting something for our $80 buck. 🙄

UPenn had no essay if I remember correctly.

Washington St. Louis had no real essays - one optional one about special circumstances or something, and one to tell them what you've been doing if you've been out of school awhile. Wright State had no essays at all but you do have to put in a bunch of coursework.

BU doesn't want an essay or a secondary. They just ask for a $100 check and LOR's. That being said I think that unless you are an amazing candidate on your primary (4.0 GPA, 36+ MCAT, tons of high quality EC's, and a perfect PS) having extensive essays on a secondary helps you. Even though I hated filling out Loyola's and Rush's secondaries I felt like they would be able to make a better decision about an interview and acceptance than BU.

Yeah I always thought that secondaries are such ripoffs, especially the ones that don't ask for anything more than your name and addresss and a big huge fat check for $100.

my sentiments exactly. i see the essays as only being able to help you. just sending them money and some basic background info about you does nothing that your amcas doesn't cover
