That's it I have just diagnosed myself as "neuroanatomy challenged" I give up. I did high yield a few times but nothing is going in. Kaplan wasn't much help either, got confused with the lectures. I only have a couple weeks of studying left. 🙁

If you had to memorize top few things in neuro what would they be? Tracts? pictures?

have u tried neuroanatomy made ridiculosly simple? That books takes like 2 hours t read and after that, everything will be so ridiculously simple. I used this book w High Yield and used together, they helped alot.

What source did you use for genetics and molecular bio? I am struggling with these subjects.

I really liked Crossman's Neuroanatomy- about 150 pages or so, full color illustrations and lots of clinical examples. I am a visual person, so this book really helped me to visualize what was going on and remember it. It is also a very easy book to read quickly- I read it in about 2 days or so.

And if I had to memorize something quickly for neuro, focus on the lesions. Tabes Dorsalis, Brown Sequard syndrome, occlusions of the ACA or MCA in the brain. I haven't taken the boards yet, but I noticed Q-bank is asking a lot of neuro questions related to lesions.

Are you talking about studying for your neuro class or the nbme? I don't know what you tell you for the class studying (neuro SUCKS). However, the High Yield Neuro book is great for the NBME, and the USMLE for that matter.

Neuro's just one of those classes that you have to pass, and whether you learn anything or not isn't important. Review texts will tell you what's important

I am talking about neuro for the USMLE.
Thank you guys so much. Someone else also suggested Ridic. Simple so I will try to get that tomorrow. I will let you know how that goes.

Disclaimer: I'm just an undergrad, majoring in Neuro.

However, in our Neuroanatomy class, we used Sidman & Sidman's Neuroanatomy: A Programmed Text as a supplement. It's a great workbook, and in about 2-3 days, you'll know a lot of material.

Thanks for the help guys

Im reading HY neuro right now and its pretty good provided you have some grip on the material. Im also reading RS neuro along with HY and its okay as well. I wouldnt say it takes 2 hours to read, more like 4 (but thats just me). Some parts of RS are downright annoying especially brainstem.
