Hi all,

I have an upcoming interview with the MOT program at A.T. Still. Can anyone in the program/interviewed with the school give me some tips or some insight of what the interview is like? I am pretty nervous with my prerequisite GPA (I got a C in psio) but other than that I feel pretty confident. Anything, ANYTHING would help. Really trying to get into this program 🙂

Good Luck! I have an Interview with AT Stills this coming Friday (11/6). It seems that the interview is only 30-45 min and from what I have read, its pretty basic OT questions.

I just applied there. How long does it take to hear back if you got an interview from when you submit your supplemental application? I realize this program is rolling admissions, but I wanted to apply just to see if I had a chance.

I had an interview with them on October 23rd! When I applied it took about 2 weeks for them to contact me for an interview. It wasn't bad at all very basic questions you would expect! Good luck to you all!

I had an interview with them on the 23rd and I received my acceptance today, so they get back to you pretty fast! The interview was very simple/basic and it lasted around 30 minutes.

I feel like it took about 2-3 weeks after I submitted the supplemental for them to call me to invite me for an interview.

Congrats! Were you interviewed by two faculty members? Were there any questions you felt you were stumped by at all, or typical interview questions?

Thanks! I was interviewed by a faculty member and an admissions counselor. The questions were very typical, I didn't feel stumped at all!

Hi, if I may ask....what are your stats? I interviewed last Friday and I am really, really nervous/anxious to hear back. Congrats again on being accepted!

Hi, how long do they give you to make a decision? I'm trying to decide if I should wait a little longer to submit my supplemental application since it seems like they get back to you within a couple weeks. Thanks! And also.. if anyone else super annoyed by how we have to pay for otcas and then pay a ton for these "supplmental" or "graduate school" applications that cost between $50-90?! I swear if I don't get into grad school I'll be living on the streets after this process lol

I totally agree with you. I pushed my interview with MWU-Az from this week to January because I knew if I got in I would only have a month to fork over 750.00... :greedy:

They actually didn't give me a time limit but you have to submit $500 deposit. I know, this process have been so expensive! I couldn't imagine having to apply over multiple cycles.

I totally feel the same way! So far. I have spent ~1,500 on applications and interview expenses. and I am pretty low income so this is a huge hit for me financially

I feel you girl! Literally called a admissions office today on the verge of tears because I couldnt come to a required interview. The lady felt bad I think and said we will most likely be able to work something out. This was a school I applied to in Philly and I live in CA so all this required travel with like a weeks notice is madness. The flights are so expensive with a weeks notice! Oh well. I hope this round of applications works out for me.

I think ill submit my AT still supplmental applications in a week or so haha. gotta space this stuff apart somehow! good luck everyone!

Have you decided if you are going to AT Still? I am still waiting to hear back from one more school and have to submit the deposit by the 30th!! I can't decide lol

I actually declined their offer today 🙁 I was accepted to the University of Toledo and the tuition would be the same as ATSU but I would be getting an OTD at Toledo instead of an MOT at ATSU.

Were you called/emailed? And it took about a week and a half or so correct?

Has anyone else accepted A.T. Still's offer yet? Super excited to start in August!

Has anyone on these forums interviewed Dec 4 and heard back? It looks like acceptances hear by this amount of time. Are rejections or waitlists also emailed?

I think they said rejections are sent via letter snail mail, and I am not sure about wait lists. & I would email Erlinda if you haven't heard back. I did after my interview, and she gave me a date of when she was sending everything out by!
Hope that helps.

I have an interview in february.. is there even a chance of getting accepted or Am I going straight to the waitlist ? would love some opinions.. Thanks !

I'm in the same boat as you! When I got the call inviting me to the interview, I asked how many people had already been accepted. Leslie told me that about 15-16 had accepted their admissions offer and they were still waiting on somewhere around 13 more to get back to them with a decision. It definitely makes me a little nervous!

Hi,

Does anyone know if they have started a FB group for the class of 2018?

I received my acceptance email yesterday!! 🙂

Is there a FB group already?

I also got accepted and will most likely start this fall too! I emailed Erlinda recently about potential FB groups and she got me in contact with a few OT grad students. Apparently, they decided to not start a FB group until a month before school starts so that the members will be a finalized list. They also think it will be "overwhelming" if they post stuff in the group this early on... I have mixed feelings about this decision though :/

Bummer-I wonder if they would reconsider doing that. Assuming people might want to find roommates etc. based on the class list..

I was just accepted the other day and there is a very good chance I will be attending- I fell in love with the program after going to the interview! 🙂

Do any of you know what you are going to do for housing yet (living alone vs. with roommates)?

Yay, Congrats! I felt the same way about the program.
I have no idea what i'm going to do yet. When do you plan on moving down there?

I think classes start late August, right? If they do I'll probably move out there mid-August so I can take advantage of my last California summer haha. Where are you moving from?

Yeah, I believe the first day is August 28th. I'm coming from Reno, NV. How about you?

Hey everyone,

I have been struggling with trying to find the confidence to apply to OT school due to my low stats, but I recently decided to suck it up and just apply last minute anyway. I currently live in Arizona and I'm applying to A.T. Still right now. I'm wondering if I need to write a separate essay for the supporting documents section on OTCAS specifically for A.T. Still (Future goals within the OT profession). Also wondering if it's even worth it to apply this late in the game.... Any advice would be much appreciated. :arghh:🙁

Sometimes low stats can be compensated with good volunteering or interview, so don't doubt your application just yet! As for application to A.T. Still, I think their application closed already last year 🙁 At this point, I would just research what schools are still open. GL!

Any updates on a facebook group?

Don't be discouraged, even if you aren't accepted this year! I applied to a few programs last year (including AT Still), but it was last minute, I had a lot of prereqs/observation hours in progress, and my applications were very rushed/definitely not as good as they could have been. Unsurprisingly, I did not get in anywhere.

I wasn't totally confident in my ability to be accepted this year after my rejections last year, but I've gotten into a few programs so far! Definitely give yourself enough time to write a great personal statement that demonstrates your passion for OT and complete your applications as early on as possible. Also, all of the programs I have been accepted into conducted interviews, which definitely helped me out because they considered the other qualities that could make me a good OT, not just my numbers.

Feel free to message me if you need any other help or advice! Good luck!

Congratulations to everyone! I will also be attending ATSU this fall 🙂 I know it's a bit early but did anyone look into housing yet? I hope they start a facebook soon so we can all met each other and prepare accordingly. Super excited!
