Hey.. So I am a med student in Iran and my med school is ranked really low in the world.. And I am not acing it even here because of my devastation about the situation and not having the hope. So.. To be cristal clear.. Not a great start for me, lots of bad luck.. And so on. Anyways.. My situation ain't bad in my country but well I think I want qay more than this I am hard working and passionate about medicine but I'm an idealist and that's why I didn't do great so far.. Anyhow.. I wanna know considering my situation and the fact that I didn't start this with success.. How do I proceed? Do I? Would I get anywhere? How do I turn this around? Is there anybody with the same situation?

I think we should always finish what we start. If you can be very exceptional in your university and always have a good GPA. you can always try to continue outside of your country. In my batch, we have someone from Iran and she is pretty nice.

What university are you?

University of Indonesia. It is ranked 309 in the world on 2013.
That's way better than where I am at right now.. I hope that I can go to a better university for my residency. By the way. I posted a new thread on how to be a distinguished med student.. If you have any advice or any experience or stories on that, I'll be more than happy to hear it. 🙂

as long as you are willing to work, there will always be a job somewhere, finish your education, safely.
Watch out the bombs.

I feel for you! I understand it's very hard to stay MOTIVATED when the cards are already stacked against you (I'm assuming you're talking about getting a US residency). But that's exactly what you need to do. There are many FMGs getting residencies every single year. You need to proceed with the idea that "I absolutely will get it" because "I will try the hardest." I want to see you come back on here in 1,2,3 years time and tell us about your success!!!!!!!
