AACOMAS personal statement as one big block!!

I wrote my essay. Then I did the same as I did for the AMCAS application, that is "copy and paste" the essay from Microsoft word to Notepad and then post it onto the online application. This worked on AMCAS to separate the paragraphs but didn't work with AACOMAS. So, when you see the print preview of your application, your personal statement was one big block, one big paragraph. I was really concerned about this because if it is in the shape of one large paragraph then the essay will not make any sense and will take a real effort to actually read. I called the AACOMAS help line, and the nice lady told me not to worry and that the adcoms will see your personal statement just the you transmit them on the online application and not the way they come out to look like on the print preview. Well I took her word for it and hope that she was right. I submitted the AACOMAS app. yesterday and now all I have to do is study for some insignificant test. I think it is in august but I am not too sure. It is called MACT or something like that. Hopefully this test is not to early in the morning because such a thing can be a real inconvenience😀 😀 .

man, you could fit your personal statement in the space provided? i had to cut mine up so much it hardley makes sense anymore. good luck i hope it turns out ok.

My AMCAS essay was great. It flowed. It was almost poetic and it wasn't even at the 5300 character limit. Then the aacomas app. said that their limit is 3000 characters just to be difficult. So I had to cut out a lot of the good and creamy stuff out of my essay until it barely made the same point as my amcas essay.

same problem here 😉 i think they did it on purpose, so applicant's would basically write two totally different essays. I didn't submit my applicaton yet to AACOMAS just because of personal statement. I need to cut it somehow but I have no idea how 😡

hopefully i can finish it soon....by the way do you know how long does it take for DO schools to send out secondaries after you've submitted you application?

had the same problem as you guys....with the "block" formatting, as well as having to chop that baby up 🙂

No I don't know how long it takes DO schools to send out secondaries after you have submitted your app.. All I know is that my app. was sent to the 3 DO schools that i applied to.

By the way, were you born in russia or were you born here?
