AACOMAS.. where do I put these things!!?!?

Hey yall!
Hopefully someone can answer my questions:
I am almost done filling out the AACOMAS app, but something just seems weird to me. I have all of these things that I have room to include, but the AACOMAS only lists one section for "employment" (that was easy), one for "internships, experiences, etc." which I have no clue what that all includes... could they please define "etc."?? and they have "awards". My question is this:

Where do I put the following information:
Certifications
Intercollegiate athletics
Intramural athletics
Groups I belong to
Hobbies
Publications
Conferences Attended

Any advice...it's really awesome how much they limit you on explaining these things too!! 🙂

Anyway, just curious how people are filling those sections out and if you're filling it in by listing and then separating the events with a semi-colon or something... what does it physically look like on the app... do you have lists,
or is it set up as a paragraph.... for the love.. please tell me I'm not as ******ed as I sound right now 😀

You would put all those under experiences and internship. There is not enough room to have descriptions of the activities, so you should just list the activity and put the date of it. You can separate the activities by colons. Just put it in any format such that you can fit everything.
 
Yep, just list them under Question #15: List volunteer positions, internships, etc. (include dates):

You'll have plenty of opportunity to describe some of these in secondaries and interviews!

Free Health clinic volunteer; 9/1999 -5/2002, honor council elected member; 9/2002-5/2003, ect, etc..........

That is how I listed all my stuff on there. Then I used my secondaries to explain what I needed to explain. There should really be more room and they should allow more words for the essay as well.
 
So we shouldn't even attempt to explain our volunteer activities, etc. on the primary app? I was trying stuff like what you see below and that was just not working for me! (It used up too many of my limited characters as you can see)

Organization/Position: Secretary, LC
Amateur Radio Association, 2002-present.

Organization/Position: Student Interviewer and
Freshman Advisor for the Honors Program,
University of X, 2002-2004.

Should I change it to:

Secretary LCARA, 2002-present; Student Interviewer and Freshman Advisor, University of X, 2002-2004.....etc????

Radionut, That is the way that I did my app. Another way to cut characters is instead of putting 2002-2003 you could put 2002-03. Good luck with the confined space. 🙂
 
I changed my format and the suggestion about listing years "2002-04." It's hard to work in the space they give us! I'm a neat freak when it comes to applications, and this cramped room is driving me nutz. I feel like my application is sloppy.

If you have enough character space, theres no reason why you couldn't do that.
 
You will get a chance to elaborate on your extracurricular once they send you the schools send you their secondaries, so it's okay if you can't fully discuss your experiences in the AACOMAS app.
