All,

I will be applying this next upcoming cycle this June. I have never used AADSAS, so my question is, will the application allow me to register now, to start filling out the application, like my personal statement, extra curricular, grades, etc, then when it comes to June 1st or whenever the first day to apply is, just press submit? or will I only be able to see the application come June 1st? Thanks

It will not let you fill out that information in advance. You have to have it all prepared in advance and then enter it in the day you want to submit it.

You can't access the application until June. The application doesn't really take that long to fill out. What takes the most time is writing your motivational statement for why you want to go into dentistry, submitting your transcripts, and getting your letters of recommendation in. Other than that, it doesn't take but a day or two to do the application.

Good stuff, thank you cyrano as well as baseballjunkie for the help

If you haven't done it yet, my best advice is to get that first draft of your personal statement to an advisor ASAP. Don't worry about what it says (obviously do your best, but don't let embarrassment or whatever else casue you to procrastinate!). I found that once I got the draft finished it was a lot easier to edit. The hardest part was fitting it into the 4500 character allotment.

My point is: I didn't get my letters of recommendation and PS into my advisor until June, and it took him entirely too long to get it all finished and mailed. I'd say I lost a month and probably at least one interview.

Thanks for the advice. Ya I finished my personal statement and about to give it to my prehealth advisor to edit, trying to stay on top of things as much as possible. Appreciate all the help guys.
