AADSAS: DAT Planned vs Complete

On my AADSAS, I input the date I took my DAT. AADSAS has updated the status saying stating they have received my scores.

I plan to take the DAT again mid July, should I state COMPLETE or PLANNED? Would it be smart to say COMPLETE in order for my application to be complete faster and be ready for review by dental schools. By the time the dental schools review my app (August/September), my new score should be auto uploaded.

Or maybe it doesnt matter at all?

From a competitive standpoint, I really hope they time stamp the material and know you lied.

Personally, I wouldn't put complete, because should you not be ready for the DAT or something happen that prevents you from taking the DAT by August, you're going to look like a fool. You already have a DAT score there..it'll get sent out.

Same situation. It's not like we don't already have a score....it's just that the score isn't updated.

Since the application no longer has the "future DAT" option, I would guess that they expect us to put the most recent situation for your DAT, aka planned + planned date. I don't know which is better or whether it matters or not...

In a sense, putting complete doesn't count as lies. Plus some schools recommend that applicants email them about the retake. I think no matter which one I'll choose, I'll definitely email the admissions about my retake after submitting the application.

I have a question....so if you've taken it once, you put one entry complete, and then put your retake plans...as planned.You can add two entries?

Technically, you have completed it. So, you are not "lying" by putting complete. It's not your fault they do not have a retaking option. I am going to say complete. I am retaking mid July as well. We will not look like fools😀 I am sure most people are confused by this!!

The instructions for this section also say that you can make changes to it at any time during the application session; so, the day I re-take mine I will go in and change the date to completed on my new date.

Smart. I didn't even notice that. lol Good plan. But I would still email the schools about it since schools like Case doesn't want to review an application twice per applicant, said on their website.

so you can't add two entries? if u have a DAT score and are retaking...do you just put planned?

I called aadsas about this. I'm in the same boat. If you plan to retake then put PLANNED.

I wanted my old score uploaded right away since it was still pretty good (TS 19, AA 19, PAT 24), however, AADSAS will not get your old score unless you pay $25 to send an official score report to a school (just one school.) This is what I was told by aadsas and ada. I took my DAT last year and last app cycle so if you took your test in Feb 2011 and this is your first cycle, this shouldn't apply to you.

If you don't want to pay, both scores will be posted on your app when they receive your new test score and both will be put on your app. However if you plan on taking your DAT July 5th, it will take two to four weeks until aadsas will receive your scores and send them to your schools. At some schools your app will not be considered until they have your DAT scores.

If you are putting complete, schools may not take into considersation that you may have better scores on the way and reject you.
