WoW AADSAS is so slow that it took them a month and a half to send out my transcript alone!!!! This is ridiculous.

I called this morning to get my number, 35XX. I also applied seven weeks ago. I was told my application was sent yesterday. Somehow, I just don't buy it 😡

You're right Sprgrover!! I received my confirmation packet today. It was mailed on the 21st. I'm so happy that everything is correct and the schools should finally be receiving my application!! 👍

For those of you who have applied early, did AADSAS mail your pink confirmation sheet at the same time they mailed your application to the dental schools; or did the pink sheet come weeks after they mailed the application to the dental schools?

I believe when my application was sent to schools, it was the same time that they sent me my pink confirmation sheet.

I checked Infosource and it said that AADSAS mailed my application on 9/23. What I can't understand is that they received one of my letters on 9/16 but it didn't go out with the rest of my application. 😕

Can anyone tell me what they mean? Which ones will the schools look at?

inc +/- means that the grade was calculated with B+ being worth more than B which is worth more than B-, etc. w/o +/- means it is just A, B, C, etc. it depends on the school and what grading scale they use as to which one they look at.

The "inc +-" gpa factors in + and - grades, like A+, A, A-, B+, B, B-, C+, etc. So, roughly, an A+ is 4.3, A is 4.0, A- is 3.7, B+ 3.3 and so on.

The "w/o +-" gpa just uses A, B, C, D, F grades and does not use + and - grades. So, no A-, B+, B- etc. in this grading system.

My guess is that the dental schools will look at both, that is prolly why AADSAS includes both of them. But then, maybe it depends on the school.

mine took about 6 weeks. aadsas sent out the application to schools in 3 weeks, but i didn't recieve the pink sheet with the number for 6 weeks. you can call before that to get your number though. also i applied may 19 so they did mine faster than people that applied in aug or sept. i would give them 4 to 6 weeks to send it to schools and maybe 2 months to get you the pink sheet.

I submitted my app on Wed Sept. 8th and they told me that it will be sent by Friday Oct. 22th. Hope that saved someone a phonecall.

Infosource is updated sporadically, and once AADSAS creates your file, it is left up to the schools to post information. Give them some time, although Infosource should reflect the date that your application was mailed out. It took a while before anything showed up, and even then AADSAS posted incorrect information (said things were sent when they weren't, etc.) and it took some time until everything was ironed out.

Infosource updated 🙂 I submitted my app. Sept 8th and they sent it off Oct 21st. My number was in the 5,200's. Even though I won't hear from anyone for awhile, I still feel better seeing that it is on the way to the schools.

It depends on the school. Case was really fast in sending a reply to me, but that was back in July, while some schools waited for about a month before sending a secondary. Since schools are getting overwhelmed with applications at the current moment they might take a bit longer to respond. My hunch is that it will be around three weeks.

AADSAS called me this morning. Can you believe it? I am given a number for less than 4 weeks. 68XX, where XX is VERY LOW. He aslo mentioned that the volume seems to go down. So it may not take as long as 6-8 wks as they had mentioned earlier. He said they were speeding up their process too.

that's interesting. when did you submit?

there was someone on this thread who submitted 9/26 with a number 60**, and someone ONE day later with a number 64**. Mine was 12 days after that, and my number was "only" 65**. So i guess only 100 people submitted in those 12 days, vs. the 400 that submitted on one day in september. i think things have calmed down considerably....

I called AADSAS today and asked them what the number is and the lady (who seemed a bit annoyed) said that it is well over 9000 applications. She wouldn't give me a precise number, so I help this estimate will satisfy everyone's curiosity.
