Hey guys,
did u feel that ps section was much diff on this exam, i felt like most qs were based on the passage and not your knowledge like other exams were. On other exams i didnt really havet to read the passage, b/c questions were based on what i knew. Do you know is the real exams more likethis one.

i hope the real mcats are just like the practice aamcs. i feel like the kaplan full lengths are so much harder.

question for people who have already taken the mcats, are the practice aamc tests more like the real mcats??

AAMC 7,8,9 are representative.
expect a fairly hard PS section.

my scores on aamc 3-8 were 39 +/- 2 so i thought i was in good shape for the real thing
when i sat down for the first section (ps) it was so hard that i got way off pace...i barely had time to read the last 10 questions, much less think them through
i managed to compartmentalize and forget about the ps while i did the other sections, but when i walked out of the test room i thought i was screwed...i had always thought that i'd walk out of there feeling like a million bucks, but instead all i could think about was how screwed i was

fast forward 2 months
the aamc practice tests predicted my real score exactly
so even though it seems harder (or easier), your real score will most likely be +/- a few points of your aamc tests

Hence, standardized test.

That's silly. There's no way to predict how "hard" a section is going to be. For some, the section could be easy, for others, it could be hard. It's really just the luck of the draw.

My friend's took the MCAT last April and felt it was extremely easy (the entire exam). Easier than the AAMC practice exams.

It really just depends on the person. There's no logical reason to expect PS to be "fairly hard" for the upcoming exam.

regardless of easy or hard, b/c i agree that it depends on the person, the real one (last april) was like 7,8,9, i think most like 9...just go into PS with reading comp in mind-if a question seems kind of ridiculous and out of the mcat scope, it probably is based entirely on passage info.
