MTBE is just methoxybutane (an ether). I understand that MTBE doesn't have a hydrogen to donate to hydrogen bonding, but can't it still accept a hydrogen bond from water? I get that H-bond is the best answer, but technically ethers are capable of bonding with water, correct?
