After searching on the forum, i didnt find anybody has asked this question.

For the #146 in the bio science section, the answer is C: one unit less than the charge on lysine. Why? I read the solution but it didnt explain it very well

Thank you

Just go through each amino acid. Everything is protonated cuz of the low pH. The protonated COOH doesn't give it a charge but the protanted amine NH3 does. Lysine has 2 protonated amines giving it a plus 2 charge. It has a protonated COOH group as well but that doesn't contribute to charge. The same can be done with the other amino acid, but that one has only one amine group so it has a plus one charge.
