Hi all,

How do I get access to all of the careers in medicine information on aamc.org? Portions of it are locked now, but it says that medical students are able to get access for free. I created an account, clicked "verify access" and indicated that I am a medical student, but I still don't have access...

Are you a medical student now or starting in the fall? If you're starting in the fall, you're probably not considered a medical student by AAMC yet, and so you won't have access until you actually start school.

That's it lol Will it be automatically updated once I am in school?

Is this Careers in Medicine, a relatively new thing? I guess it's so that students have accurate information on each specialty as well as what is needed to match, etc.

Site sucks anyway. Half the links give me an error.

does this site only work for US med students or for also caribean med students?

Hmm, I'm not sure how old it is. But yeah, it gives the average scores by specialty, as well as salary information that varies pretty significantly from Medscape surveys.

Yeah it is pretty error-prone. I think they re-did a lot of the website last year... not sure if it's any better or worse.

Probably only US MD students, as it is only accessible if you have an AAMC account, and the account gains access once you matriculate to a school you applied to via AMCAS.

The last time I checked, it used mostly MGMA salary data compared to medscape's surveys.
