hey everyybody..i just had a few questions regarding the AAMC tests..i've been noticing a lot of people in addition to the AAMC CBT are using the old paper exams..i mean from what I hear they're not the same..my question is that are there different versions like just a 3 vs a 3R and then the CBT for exams for all 3-10 and then does that mean there is also a 1 and 1R as well as a 2 and a 2R..if someone can clarify this that would be great!

i'm not entirely sure about this but I think the AAMC CBT practice tests are just the paper versions in condensed forms...for example, AAMC 3 CBT is basically AAMC 3R (the paper version) except its been formatted to fit current MCAT testing procedures i.e. numbers of passages/questions etc. So if you were to look at the AAMC 3 CBT, and then AAMC 3R, you would most likely find 2-3 extra passages per section. Oh and I think the only paper versions are for AAMC 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7. Does that help? Sorry if I talked in circles!

The regular exams have a 1-10, which are the old exam format, which is a bit longer than the CBT format.

The CBT versions only have exams 3-10. These exams correspond to 3-10 of the regular exams and are just shortened- a few passages and a few questions in the passages that remain are removed- to fit the CBT format.
