Does anyone know when the last time the AAMC salary data was updated and what the current figures are for assistant prof. positions in psychiatry depts?

I'm negotiating an AMC faculty position and I need to see if I can find a way to access the most recent report without paying through the nose (have to see if my institution provides free access somehow), but I thought I'd see if anyone here had access as well.

Also, are there any other AMC salary data sources besides AAMC?

I'd check to see if your specific specialty has a salary survey. For example, the npsych Sweet salary survey does break down salaries by setting. Not sure about other specialties, but worth a look.

I would use the Sweet survey for any specialty. "Psychologists get paid this.". I doubt an AMC's finance department knows the difference between a clinical psychologist and a clinical neuropsychologist.

I'm in a Psychiatry dept at an AMC. I was recently told by a mentor that psychologist's salaries in whatever survey my AMC uses (prob AAMC) are not broken down by specialty --- as in the research psychologists (with no clinical degree) are lumped together in the same category / salary band as the clinical psychologists for the different ranks. So depending on how many non-clinical psychologists your Psychiatry dept has on faculty may factor in to the starting salary that is initially offered (and supports using other data - like the Sweet survey - for salary negotiations).

My dept. apparently benchmarks at the 75th percentile of AAMC, but the offer letter I received is based on the 2019-2020 survey. Surely it has increased in 5 years, so I was hoping to use the updated data as part of the negotiation.

They're also restructuring the compensation plans for all the psychologists, but it isn't set yet, so they didn't have firm numbers when I asked a few weeks ago.

I think the Sweet salary survey (which is also a few years old at this point) lists out average wRVUs and/or quotas for such (can't remember off-hand). That could be useful for RVU targets and subsequent bonuses.
