Hello all,

I see everyone referring to, citing,and using the chart/table on the AAMC website that gives the % acceptance rate based on your GPA and MCAT score. Here's my question

Are these numbers only for Allopathic MD programs, or are Osteopathic DO programs included in this data as well?

The AMCAS stats grid doesn't include the Texas application service data either.

This may be obvious, but I just wanted to be sure. I have been looking at Table 24: MCAT and GPA Grid for Applicants and Acceptees to U.S. Medical Schools, 2007-2009 (aggregated) from the AMCAS website. I was curious about how the statistics were done.

For example, if an individual with a 30 and a GPA of 3.65 applied, it says that the percentage acceptance is 73.2. But, I have a feeling that individual apply to more than one school and will not be accepted to all of the schools they apply for, even with those scores. Does the 73.2% indicate that an individual with those scores has a 73.2% chance of getting into one school? or does it indicate that an individual with those scores has a 73.2% chance getting into the schools they apply to?

Does that make sense? It is hard for me to articulate myself sometimes.

It means that is the percent of applicants that got at least one acceptance.
