Just logged in into my account to check if there is any information about when am I scheduled to take the Orals... the link to my written examination results disappeared altogether....here I have the paper result in my hand with the score and congratulations and nothing on my page on-line. It was not a pleasant feeling to not find it.

Is it the same for everybody?

Same thing here. I am still listed as a candidate. Hopefully that means that we will hear about orals scheduling soon.

I emailed them last week. They said mid to late Dec. Obviously they are never in a hurry to get us info in an appropriate time frame.

I called the ABA office on 12-18-09, and they said that the oral exam dates were put in the snail mail on the 17th. They refused to tell me over the phone when my date was, claiming not to have access to that information (BULL$HIT!!). One of my classmates supposedly found out directly from the ABA. If that is the case, I'm sure that he used some sort of persuasive technique in extracting the information.

Anybody know if we are supposed to earn CME credits while we are preparing for orals?

Ill be taking it in APR. Ill have to start getting ready after the holidays.

Got a letter from ABA today - they scheduled my exam in September 🙁

Anyone know the probability of getting an April Oral Exam date if requested?

It's my understanding that it's a lottery system, but does anyone know any tricks that might increase one's chances (besides being prompt to sign up and request it after the written results are published) of getting an April date?

To my knowledge and from what I have just seen there are no tricks.

If you request the fall you will get the fall. If you request the spring you will be in a lottery.

I was present when two of my classmates immediately upon receival of passing written requested the spring. I debated about it for 3 days then requested the spring as well. I got it. They didnt. I also have a friend that requested the spring weeks later and got it.

So that tells me it is completely random.

Got my letter today - spring it is.

I do know one person who wrote to the ABA and got his date switched from fall to spring. He was scheduled to deploy to Iraq or Afghanistan and he asked them to make an exception so that he'd be board certified when he left.
