I was curious about how many board-certified neuropsychologists exist across the United States, but the member directory website doesn't allow you to easily visualize this. So, I went ahead and scraped all 1282 members (at the time of this post) from the directory and charted it below. The first chart shows total providers across each state and the second chart shows it per 100,000 residents. There is an interactive version, but I'm not sure how to insert it in this post.
The first chart is somewhat unsurprising, but second chart is a bit unexpected. Even among states where you might expect a disproportionate concentration of neuropsychologists (i.e., California, New York, Massachusetts), there really aren't that many for any state when considering the number of potential patients.
This is clearly a rough, high-level view; let me know how else you'd like to see the data charted!
