yes all done! very uncertain of the answers... fingers crossed.
Did you do MKSAP?
If so, thoughts on the overall difficulty/relevance of practice questions compared to the real thing?
It's kind of a moot point for me since my exam's on Wednesday and I don't have time/cash to blow on any other review at this point anyway. But I like to torture myself.

Good luck tomorrow homie.
I am also sitting for this tomorrow.
For all the cookies.

You too. I'm currently pretending to study. It's a total waste of course but it makes me feel better about myself.

I gave up a few hours ago. Feeling very stupid right now.

Word. My practice test scores started swinging wildly as I got closer to today. First week or so I was doing a solid 65-75% on every test. The last two days I was getting 55% on one followed by 85% on the next.
And off we go....
Well. That wasn't fun.
I think I can say this without worrying about ABIM trying to take away my birthday . . . on my test, without getting into specifics, there was more rheum than I expected, and less ID and heme than I expected.
Everyone was dyspnic and weak . . . everyone. So was I, ironically enough, by the end of the test.

I expected all the Rheum. I've been expecting the Rheum boards with a little cards and gi thrown in for good measure since I took my first ITE. But I was hoping for a litle more differentiation between conditions.
Either everyone had PMR or I'm totally fu**ed.

I definitely expected a lot of rheum, but thought what was there was even MORE than I expected.
Lord it never ends huh? Hopefully you guys get some quality downtime in. Congrats!

Nope...never. In a couple of years I get to drop another $2G on sub-specialty boards and then do it all over again every 10 years. It's awesome!
That test was definitely more difficult than I expected. The long passages were a surprise as I thought they wouldn't be so damn long.
I also felt a lot more rheum and a lot less cards than expected.
All in all I found it reasonably challenging. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Statistically the pass rate is pretty good so I'll think positive about it. Many of the MKSAP concepts were well reflected I think.

I kind of think MKSAP covered too much unnecessary stuff - what I mean is stuff we all, already know because it was beat into us.
MedStudy seemed much better at pulling out the odd/rare garbage ABIM likes to pull on the test. My last few weeks all I used was MedStudy questions, and I think it was the bigger bang for the buck.
Though for recert (if I ever decide to sit for IM boards again), I may use MKSAP for the exact reason I criticize it now.

oh man! i normally don't freak out, but i am freaking out. i just keep thinking about all the stupid stuff i did and the questions i missed.
gotta figure out a way to distract myself...

The following things are keeping me from flipping out:
1. I probably won't get my results for 2-3 months. In that period of time I have a clinical trial protocol and 3 grants to write...and I will take 2 vacations too. I've got too much else going on to worry about this too much.
2. Everyone I know who has taken it has passed it.
3. People I know who are way smarter than me spent their break time studying MKSAP. If nothing else, I can rely on that for comic relief if I fail.
4-10. Beer.

Haha! Thanks for the distraction! Yeah, gonna have to just move on with life and hope for the best. They really should just pass everyone...we need more internists out there 🙂

I think we should get results by the coming weekend
The earlier the better 🙂!
I've already forgotten my log-in.
Will they send us an email?

I have been checking the ABIM website daily since last week. I hope they publish the results by this weekend. My fellowship director keeps asking me about them..😕

Friendly curiosity?
You don't have to have them passed until you want to sit for specialty boards.

I suspect they will post them within the next 11 days.

Waiting patiently then.
10 days to go.
Last year I heard they posted on 10/29.

I don't quite get why everybody is so anxious for the scores. How many have in your current contract that you have to pass it this year or you can't come back to work on 11/1? Kind of what I thought. What's the difference if you find out you passed/failed it this month or in January? As long as you can register for the next administration, what does it matter?

Exactly

It is completely unclear to me why it takes the ABIM this long to produce the results.....does anybody know?? This is a computer generated test....how many meetings do they need to decide about the passing score??

You know, we have this same discussion with every computerized anything. Why do USMLE results take so long to come back? Why does the Match take so long? Why do board exam results take 2-3 months? The answer, in general, is hand-checking. In this case, I imagine they're also following up all reported testing irregularities, maybe auditing specific Pearson centers, etc, etc.

.....do you suggest that there might be a need for more transparency on how the process works?

No. I suggest that everybody needs to chill the hell out.

I think they put it out in the morning usually (afternoon your time). So no need checking it after that.....that is what I hear......
"Do not be anxious about anything,
but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
present your requests to God.
And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)
