I'd like an honest opinion about my GPA if anyone is willing. Its not about having B amongst many A's, but something rather worse.

Freshman year I had a 3.1 gpa which included 3 C's in bio1, bio2, biolab2, and a B- in chem2.

Sophmore year highlighted a B in organic1 and A- in orgo2 (both were highest grades in the class, my school is rough on the grades), A in physio, math and 3 semesters of physics -- A and A-'s respectively; B in pchem1. Roughly 3.6 for soph year.

1st semester of jr year I proudly (and finally) snatched down an impressive 3.93 with A's in micro, pchemII, statistics, physiological psychology, and A- in biochem1.

3.55 overall thus far, 3.45 sci, 3.7 non-sci.

The differential between sci and non-sci gpa
also concerns me.

Taking MCAT this april.

honest opinions appreciated, thanks.

your gpa is fine, it's the average of some med schools' accepted students, and med schools will like your upward trend, .....honestly, I don't really know why you're posting 🙄

What school are you going to?

Your GPA is just a tad higher than mine (and, hey, I wouldn't call a 3.55 abject at all!!!) but basically the same deal with non-science GPA higher than science. You should be fine if you do at least 29 on the MCAT and apply to an appropriate number and range of schools. EC's, essays and letters of rec are, of course, vitally important as well. I applied to 23 schools, and have 13 interviews and 1 acceptance thus far. Best of luck to you. 🙂
