Hello, I just need few opinions about pre-req of dental school admission.
today, I was reading U of Maryland School of Dentistry DDS prerequisites and this part made me wonder...
"While the Committee on Dental Recruitment and Admissions strongly encourages applicants to earn a bachelor's degree prior to dental school matriculation, applicants who have successfully completed at least three academic years (90 credit hours) in an accredited university may be considered for admission."
In my college, 85 - 120 credits = senior
and end of next year, I have exactly 85 credits (well, and it would be end of my second year at college and the 3rd year part doesn't apply in my case..)
I thought I can apply UMB school of dentistry with 85 credits since it is considered to be "senior" credits in my college.
I checked out Howard U, and VCU and they said 90 credits hours or equivalent of that.
so here is my question, do I ABSOLUTELY need 90 credits hours/3 years at college to be considered for admission for Maryland?
Oh, and when Dental school ask for "8(or 6) semester hours of inorganic chemistry"
it is asking for the general chem I/II, right? not the...real inorganic chem...(I am bio major..and i don't want to take inorganic chem unless it is needed..)
thank you~
