hello all,

I had a quick question about research based EC's. I've been working as a research technician for a year and half now, but in 3 diff labs on 3 completely different projects. My question is do i put my research experience under one heading, or do i make 3 different entries for each laboratory project. All of my lab work was around molecular genetics, but they each involved different techniques and protocols, im not sure if i should distinguish what each project entailed, or just lump it all together under one research experience entry. Also, i was able to start my research work when i got an extension from a 4th year research project i was working on. My supervisor was happy with my work and progress and hired me for the summer to continue working on it, should i emphasize on this point or does it not matter? thanks in advance.

what were your responsibilities?

It sounds like 3 completely different research positions. Why would you blend them all together? Unless they were all under the same PI or something you should probably make 3 entries.

They were all under different PIs. The first one I was hired as a summer student to continue my working on my honors project after the course was complete, and it mainly had to do with isolating bioremediation proteins. The second one was a short term employment contract and was mainly about sequencing fungus for the Bar code project and had national defense aspects, and last project had cloning plant sex genes for analysis and characterization, part of a GMO initiative. They were all different in their respect, particularly the third project cause i had to start it from the ground up and kept on revising everything, it was well interesting challenging. However, none of the projects were clinical by nature, but they were all really unique by their own merit. Guess I'll dedicate an entry for each, thank you for the advice.
