I recently took the NBDE part 1 and didn't perform as planned. Unfortunately (or fortunately) it was my anatomy score that really hurt my overall performance. I was considering a partial retake. I read somewhere that in the new format partial retakes will not be allowed because you only get one comp score. Is this true? The ADA website still has info on partial retakes and it seems you can still apply for it. Also, assuming they are still allowed, do I need to get re-evaluated by the ECE. I believe an evaluation is good for only one attempt. Can anybody confirm this.

And finally, seeing as information for us FTD/ITD's is not well consolidated, I welcome any recommendations as far as dental schools go. What are some of the LESS competitive schools? Hate to ask it but I need to be realistic. Thanks in advance for any advice.

as far as i know partial retake of examination has stopped since 2006....

From the ADA website:

Step 2: Apply for the Examination
Examination Fee: $265. Partial Reexamination Fee $135 plus $35 per each section. Examination fees are non-refundable and non-transferable (no exceptions).

-Does this mean the website hasn't been updated since 2006?

-Never mind. Upon opening the electronic application I found this condition on partial retake:

Note: Only candidates who have earned partial credit prior to Jan. 2009 are eligible for partial examination.
