When I filled out my secondary applications, they always asked to put the names of the people who were going to write letters for you. So, I wonder if they wanted to get the letters directly from the professors, or they could get the letters from my AMCAS application.

They'll get it from AMCAS. They want to know which letters they'll be requesting from the AMCAS LOR service, since AMCAS can store up to 10 letters.
