I took my general surgery written boards as a PGY5 July 17, do you all know if you need to take the final ABSITE in January? Are there any implications if I don't take it?

You dont need to. I took mine beginning of 5th year and skipped absite since it is only a “mock” ABS QE test. Talk to PD&PC to take your name off.
Best of luck

I am the first one to take it as a PGY5 in my program so they don't know the answer, I think i am just gonna skip it. @ThoracicGuy
@Bypass thanks - do you know how many questions you need to answer correctly to pass?

The board exam is scaled and varies by year (there are experimental questions and questions that are thrown out if they don't perform well). So you have to wait for the results. I don't recall getting a raw score, just a percentile and "pass/fail", although that may have changed since I took it.

Just as @Smurfette said. No raw scale but only a percentile. My year, it was 20th or 25th percentile to pass. So many weird and/or new questions on my test that left me uncertain but didn’t have a problem passing.

Best of luck
