I am a research assistant for a doctor from a clinic I volunteered at. I was responsible for data collection and organization, and will be listed as a co-author on the abstract. What should my affiliation be listed as, if I need one at all?

I am no longer at the clinic and am now attending a career-changer post bacc (studied business in undergrad). The majority of the research was done while I was volunteering, but I'm not sure if the research is affiliated with the clinic, as this is the doctor's personal project.

Generally it would be the institution that you were at while performing the research, i.e. the same as the PI.

For instance, a manuscript with some work I did a few years ago at my graduate institution, Uni A, was just submitted. Although I am now at Uni B, and have been for a few years, my affiliation on the paper is listed as Uni A. It is really only important to be up to date for the corresponding author.

Wherever you did the research at. If you've moved institutions, do not list the new one.
