I have been first author on two abstracts that were submitted and accepted to national research conferences. This conference has their own journal (of maybe the journal has a conference - not sure which). While I presented posters for these, the abstracts were published in the journal.

Should these just be listed as posters in AMCAS, or should they be under publications (and in their description explain they were just abstracts presented as a poster)? I'm guessing the first one, but I just want to make sure.

I also had 2 abstract submitted for a national conference. I listed them under publications!! 🙂

Abstracts that are accepted should really only be listed until you do the poster or presentation. Once you do the poster or presentation you only list that. People who do a lot of research (including Adcoms) may submit dozens of abstracts but they themselves are only meaningful as an opportunity to present your work they aren't an end priduct (hopefully).
