Can someone explain gram positive and gram negative to me? I have always wondered what the difference is. I know it has something to do with staining (?) But that's all I know. Kinda interested to learn about them.

Yeah, ID isn't so cut and dried. There's so much more to deciding the right abx than following a chart (allergies, PO or IV availability, local susceptibility, site of infection, adverse effects, pregnancy, age, etc)
