academic associate in ER or data collecter for sickle cell research

So this is the deal...a 2nd yr undergrad...currently a academic associate at local hospital in the ER...And recently received an offer to be involved in a research involving sickle cell disease..Looks like Im pretty much going to be a data collector, collecting data from the patients who have been enrolled since 2002. Do you guys think I should take the offer, or stick with my fully hands on ER volunteer job.
 
If the academic associate position allows large amounts of shadowing, pick that 1000% over the other.
 
there's no interviewing...yeah im probably just going to continue with the ER, i like to see people w/ gunshot wounds come into our hospital located in the middle of the projects =] thnx guys.
