The application gives a few examples to give you an idea of what to put down - so you can put down things like honors societies, DAT prep classes, Dental Assisting Classes, Special Academic Programs at your school (like an Honors Program for example). The UCLA pre-dental waxing class works here too.
Side question.... I received Dean's List for six semesters during college. How would I include/describe all six Dean's List awards in the
"Awards, Honors, and Scholarships" section of the AADSAS application? There are only 5 slots and you may only include 1 month/year for each award. Any advice?
Thanks
being in a Dean's or President's list is not an AWARD!!! You have higher than certain GPA for a semester then you are listed in Dean's or President's list. It is usually a regular practive in most (all ?) schools; Putting it in this section is like mentioning you graduated Summa Cum Laude in your P.S!! They figure this out from your GPA without anyones help or reminder.
Ok calm down... it's not a big deal
Dean's list GPA is different at every school
For some schools it is 3.0, for other schools it is 3.5, etc...
What constitutes as an award then?

To me, DAT prep classes are not a good experience to put under academic enrichment on AADSAS.
Also, as ItalianPrincess said, I don't think it's allowed/recommended by AADSAS.
NO WAY! what school is this?
So
>3.0 = University Dean's list
>3.5 = University President's list
>3.85 = I will be in President Obama's List (YES WE CAN)
no, the application states: excluding commercially available DAT preparation courses
in addition, the unversity i went to, the Dean's list was different for every college within the university. My college (arts and sciences), the dean's list was over 3.8. The other college within the university had a deans list of over 3.7. My friend who goes to state school, his deans list (arts and science) is over 3.0. My other friend's deans list at his university is 3.5. Every school is different on dean's list, trust me. This is why I think deans list is an award that should be included. Getting a 3.8 deans list from an ivy league is different than a 3.0 at a state school. Calm down please.
Hmm... well I stand corrected on the DAT prep thing. And yeah, deans list should definitely be included under awards.
Ok thanks, but this goes back to my original question then... I have received deans list for 6 semesters... 6 different months
for the awards you can only put 5 awards, for 5 different months/years.
How do I fit all 6 deans list awards for the awards section of the application?
Because you can only say one month for each award. I cannot say Deans list: Dec 2006 to August 2009, for example
I would list deans list 5 different times? isnt that redundant and awkward?
thanks
soo that means for a lot of people the academic enrichment section will be blank??
