Academic Update on OptomCAS

So I think I know the answer to this, but just want to confirm. I FINALLY got my Fall 2010 grades posted online. Now I know I have to do the Academic Update on OptomCAS where I enter my new grades.

I also have to request yet another official transcript be sent from my university to OptomCAS, pay the fee again, etc? Correct?

Is anyone else still waiting for OptomCas to confirm they have received an AU Transcript? My college sent it off Jan 5th and I'm still waiting. Sounds not too long ago, but my transcript in July (during the most hectic time for them) was confirmed within 6 days.

Hmm. My college sent it on the 11th and I've been checking constantly online for the status update. If they didn't do it tomorrow I was going to call OptomCAS and ask, not that they would necessarily tell me anything. But since yours was before mine, have you called them? In the meantime, I did email my Fall grades to the schools.

Does anyone know if we still have to do the academic update even if we have been accepted to schools? in my letters of admission they just say that I have to maintain my marks and to send in my transcript once i have conferred my degree.

As always, OptomCas is little help. The woman read me a scripted message for anyone inquiring about transcripts. She said 10-15 business days for processing, check with your school that they mailed it, and that they mailed to the correct address. I'm at the 10 business days mark right now, so next Wednesday I will call again. haha joy!

Seriously, the whole transcript thing is really annoying me. I'm waiting for them to get mine also, and am at the 15th day. Granted that there must be a lot of transcripts that get mailed to them, I don't understand what takes them so long. Unless, they check their PO Box once in a blue moon. Geez

Any luck yet for you guys? This is sort of ridiculous. The transcripts are one thing but I regret not pushing my optometrist to do the electronic version of the LOR because the paper version could take weeks for them to "process"

Nothing new for me. I'm going to contact the school I'm going to be attending and ask if they need me to go through the AU or if I can just send them my transcript directly. Because honestly, I don't want to pay for another transcript to be sent to OptomCas for the same end result of nothingness haha.

well maybe in your case there's no rush cuz you're already accepted. they can probably just wait for optomcas to get their act together.

The thing is I've already mailed two transcripts, one on the 4th and then another of the same on the 15th. I'm getting really annoyed/worried because deadlines are approaching.

wow. i am so pissed off for you. they're telling all of us to mail another one in to be sure? hmm if there are dozens of us and one of them... i wonder who's messing up...

I sent my transcript on January 5th and called on the 19th to ask for an update. They said 15 business days which was yesterday for me. I didn't want to pay for another transcript so I was planning on waiting it out for another week. Miraculously, my transcript was updated TODAY! Yayyy!!

So for those of you sending multiples, I think you may be wasting money (if it costs you at your college to send them like it does at mine). They will get updated, just takes some time. I suggest if you're still waiting for interviews/acceptances, to try faxing a student copy to the opt schools you're interested in and adding a note that OptomCas is having trouble updating with their weather situation, but you wanted to send a student copy. Some may accept it and update your file and double check when the real one comes through, and some may not accept it. Worth a try!

I emailed optomcas and they said that academic update only opens up dec 20-feb 15. i am taking summer classes which will be done by 8/10. I want to send in that 1 class because it will actually bump up my gpa. I heard that I can just write "in progress" and individually ask my schools to send the official to the opt schools. is this correct?
