Hey everyone,
i recently had my interview for RCSI here in Toronto (6 year program).
I was wondering for those of you who have been accepted into the program, when you recieved your acceptance?
and for those who are still waiting;
does anyone know the stats of acceptance after interviews for RCSI?
Thanks
good luck to everyone
🙂

You get the letter 2-3 weeks following the interview.

i should have posted this in a week or two, i do know the letters are still to come for North Americans. But just a little anxious about all of this ahah

have interviews for RCSI been going on over the same time internationally?

I found out within a few weeks of the interview. A good way to figure out if you are accepted before the letter arrives is to check your VISA statement to see if the fed ex was charged, if so, you know it's an acceptance, that's what i did, it was so exciting!

Just wondering, has anyone heard back from RCSI yet?

I just got my acceptance letter via FedEx from RCSI for their GEP. Today is March 15th, and I live in Vancouver Canada

Any RCSI acceptances from the US applicants?

got accepted at RCSI half an hour ago, i am in toronto, canada

Hey Everyone,

I got accepted today for the GEP program at RCSI! So exciting!

Congratulations to all those who've been accepted! Are you any of you Americans? Had my interview Feb 28th in NY, but still no word.

I am also from Toronto, Canada. Also interview feb 28th, so you should hopefully hear any day now.

Got accepted to RCSI Dublin 6-year program!
congrats to everyone 🙂

Anyone else, any word? It seems as if people are receiving decisions at slightly difference times, and that perhaps, American applicants have not heard back yet. Does this seem accurate?

I live in Houston and I got my acceptance to the 6 year program on Tuesday, so they should have sent them out already.

It appears that accepted American applicants should have heard by now... it's looking more and more like I didn't make the cut...

Does anyone know how and when RCSI informs rejected applicants of their decision?

Hey drhopeful10,

The 'how' part, I'm assuming based on reading past threads from years back, regarding a rejection or denial is a letter sent via the USPS for U.S. students. I'm not privy to the 'when' part, though.

My guess is that there are certain minimum cutoffs largely related to the MCAT that one must meet (for GEP) and possibly a GPA one as well. If one does not meet that cutoff they are rejected. If they do meet the cutoff the schools might wait for the class to fill up before sending rejections. This is all of course speculation, but if you think about it it makes sense. I get the feeling that the Irish schools have a far greater number of NA applicants turning down acceptances than do American or Canadian schools. Therefore, they cannot be so quick to send out rejections; rather, your application is "put on hold" in case they need to reconsider sending you an offer.

This is how I would run the system, but maybe they are not as organized or rational as I believe. Posts from past applicants suggest that acceptances can be handed out quite late, so I would assume rejections could be as well.

It's true, I was receiving rejection letters well into May and June, with my first rejection at the beginning of April from Trinity.

Did your rejection letters originate from the ABP office or from the schools' offices in Ireland?

I got my acceptance on the 15th for the 6 year program! Im from Ontario, Canada.
Congratz to everyone that did too and good luck to all that are waiting.

I was accepted into the 6 year program March 15th after my interview March 4th. I am from Calgary, Canada. From what I know through my brother, the first round of acceptances were sent out Mid March and the deadline for accepting was today so... if you are "wait listed" and you haven't heard anything, that means that if people reject their letters then you have an in. They do about three rounds of interviews and letters until May. So there is still hope if you haven't heard back. And if you have been accepted, consider yourself very lucky because apparently they cut the class number down incredibly this year as the classes in the upper years are too large. They weren't taking many North American students this year...

I think it's about 1/8 get an interview and after that 1/3 or 1/2 that get a acceptance letter. They only interview those who they are seriously considering, unlike the Canadian system.
