I created this thread couple of days ago but it was deleted. I think it would be helpful for people with gpa below 3.2 to list the schools where they were accepted.

Just so it's clear, your thread was NOT deleted. It was a victim of a server update that affected many other threads, too. The thread is still on the first page, but when you open it, you can't see your post. I'll go ahead and delete it, now, though. 🙂

ure the best Chocolate Bear!

Hey, check out my MDapps profile. (sGPA 2.99)

Accepted at both ATSUs, interview invites from NSUCOM, WVSOM, and DCOM.

Grades are definitely not everything---but the rest of my app was very strong IMO.

I agree with thanecyan, unlike allopathic schools, osteopathic schools tend to be a little more forgiving as long as you are strong in other parts of your application. For example, MCAT, EC, Research, volunteer, etc. I know people who got in with a 22 mcat but a 3.7 gpa. As long as you show strength in other areas of your application you will be okay.

bottom line = work hard and don't give up. Good luck!

My original gpa: 2.6c/2.3sci
Two yrs post bacc classes @ 4.0 with 5 sci retakes brought my gpa to: 3.14c/3.4 sci.

I volunteered 1 yr in the ER, shadowed 2 physicians (1 DO), did 1 semester of research, and a handful of various other volunteering - nothing spectacular.

I am a non-trad. Previous gpa was 10+ yrs old, but I did not have a career in the interim - I stayed home and raised kids.

I applied to and received acceptances from:

RVU
LECOM-B
ATSU

Also applied to Nova but cancelled interview after Lecom acceptance. Not one person on my interview trail questioned my previous gpa or my choice to return to school. Everyone was super friendly and just interested in me, great experience overall. My MCAT was 32 Q. Hope that helps. There is always hope 🙂

Science or overall GPA? My sGPA is just under 3.2 but my overall is 3.4ish. I've been accepted to NSU, AZCOM, Touro-CA, and Touro-NV. Waitlisted at Western. Passed on 3 other interviews.

Mdapps does a pretty good job of this btw, just in case you wanted to take a deeper look at which schools are accepting < 3.2 applicants.

http://www.mdapplicants.com/searchprofiles.php

Type in "3.2" where it says "less than" for GPA. Change the year to 2008 so you get only last years data. Select accepted. If you click on each result than you can see where each was accepted.

I was accepted to LECOM-E with a 2.98 sciGPA and 2.92 cumGPA which will be around a 3.5 sciGPA and 3.35 cumGPA after I'm done retaking classes this spring.

I got in with a 3.01, but I scored a 34 on the MCAT which I think helped

sGPA 3.16 cGPA 3.11 MCAT 23 (AHHHHH). Got into LMU then PCOM-GA said they wanted new mcat scores and when i told them I wasn't retaking (as originally planned before LMU acceptance) they decided to accept me anyway. I am going to LMU though. those are the only schools i applied to (accept Pikeville which I declined the interview because LMU acceptance).

I've been accepted to 2 schools with a cum GPA around 3.1. 🙂

If you dont mind my asking, did you have anything else going for you? Strong Recs or a lot of EC's? Im very neary identical to your stats but havnt heard from any of those schools (my top is pikeville or PCOM-Ga) I finished all the applications around mid October. Congrats on your acceptance!
