Ok, so I realized this article has more to do with undergraduate admissions but I found the article amusing, especially when the majority of us are receiving one or the other. I actually think the concept abou the video acception is neat. I can just imagine a prevet student opening an email with a dog barking at them or a cow mooing at them saying "YOUVE BEEN ACCEPTED"!!! Though I would have to say that I would much rather prefer a personalized letter letting me know that the admissions officer had read my essay and knew about me as a person!

hahaha watching some of those videos was hilarious...especially because i applied to some of those colleges...

I can't even imagine how I would react if that's how I found out I was in...I get nervous enough checking my e-mail now!!!

Quote from attached article:

[Quote}The University of Georgia, which has for several years greeted accepted students with a link to an animated graphic of fireworks, says this year's fireworks will be flashier than ever.
And yet the CVM still is one of the last schools to notify students and still uses snail mail. Go Figure🙄

All I could think was 'I am not sure I want my tuition dollars funding that' about some of the acceptance packets but then again, since my undergrad is not increasing class sizes, it still doesn't feel the need to do this...except the part of staying in close contact with accepted students (but it has always done that...which is why I ended up there as a transfer student)...even though I rejected them the first time around, they were very good about it, and when I expressed an interest in transferring, they were very helpful.

I still think there's something to be said for an old-fashioned, well-written snail mail letter. I like to have it in my hands in writing!
