Hey, just wanted to tell those of you who don't get in this year to not give up. This is my third cycle applying and I got in! I have been wait listed at a school the past two cycles, and after taking the DAT for the 4th, yes thats right, 4th time I got into one school and I may very well get into a second.

Good luck to you all...here are my average stats 3.4/3.1 19/19/21 (an 18/17/16 got me waitlisted two years ago!)

Congrats Gamecock!!! Persistence does pay off. I will also be starting dental school next fall after three attempts at acceptance. "Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. My dat scores going from 18/18 to 19/21 was the difference. I had all the research and shadowing and work experience

Oh no!! I don't want this to happen to me. I had all 17s except for 18 for RC and 18 for GC. And I applied late too.

Congrats Gamecock 🙂 You are such an inspiration to me because I'm actually in a similar situation. I've gone back and forth a few times about giving up and just doing hygiene instead. I don't think I will get an acceptance this year. I was waitlisted in 2 places last year, but I haven't heard a thing from anybody this year ! I think I have finally figured out that the only way I will get in is if I retake the DAT for the 3rd time. Sigh... I loved that quote that 3xcharm posted.... so I'm going to keep trying !

Congrats, I am also assuming MUSC, I just got my letter Monday. Im pretty excited also. I am heading down to Charleston to look around a little bit before I decide for sure. I wish I got before Jan 15 to decide. Just found this website last week, too bad I could have used it.

At what points in your undergrad did you apply? Are you in a Master's program currently?

I'm applying for my second time, and also concidering applying for Master's programs in case I don't get an acceptance this year. Was your experience similar?

I applied my senior year (very late- January) to my state school and got waitlisted. The next year I applied early and got rejected. I retook the DAT twice again and ended up going from 18/18 to 19/21. SO I graduated in May 05 and did not do a masters or post bac although I looked into them. I think talk to the Dean at your school, and see what you need to boost most on you app.
