Accepted at KCUMB and just recieved an ii from DMU, should I go?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
If you have the funds, go and find out. You're going to spend at least the next two years there. You might as well pick the place that fits you best.

From research, it seems like DMU puts a big emphasis on OMM, whereas KCU does not stress it as much. (Perhaps current students can clarify this)

I had the same choice and opted not to go to DMU. I've heard it's an awesome school but felt that KCU overall would be better for me and would end up choosing it over DMU if I had both acceptances. Also money and time were tight for me, if I had the time and money I probably would go to check it out. If you feel there's a good chance you'd attend DMU if accepted check it out.

They are both solid programs. Only go if you think you'd like living in that city with that curriculum over your current destination.

I interviewed at both...they are very comparable. Honestly I don't remember what DMU curriculum is but I really like KCU curriculum. What I like though better at DMU are their simulation center (better than decent amount of MD schools I interviewed at. though KCU is building a newer one but don't remember when it finishes) and having other graduate programs. I feel like being able to interact with other health care professionals allow me to learn more from them hence appropriately utilize them as resources or simply just make friends with someone who are not in medical school. Some may even say the area around the school. To me area around KCU is not bad but it may to you. Just some thoughts🙂 if you can though check out the school yourself.

Both great schools. Look at rotations you want. We're also a health university at Des Moines with pod students, DPT, and PA students, so what frenchyn said applies to both.

DMU is a top notch school that prepares you well, and isn't talked about enough. I can't imagine myself anywhere else.
