I guess I'm included in this list (Arizona). But I didn't come to realize it was my first choice until late in this process... :)
 
Columbia!!!! :clap: :clap: But since then I have had three nightmares in a row about not getting any financial aid, which if I don't get any I will probably go to a state school <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> :( :( :mad: ....

Zancudo, I'm not going to the second look. I will be in Colorado that weekend, but its okay- I work a block away (and I'm already sold!) Are you going to Cornell for sure, or still waiting to hear from the school that tied for #1.

I never assumed I'd get into Mayo and always thought I'd be a shoe-in at UW (as a gung-ho primary care guy with a desire to work in Native American health) but this crazy process switched things around.

I more than likely will drop from the UW waitlist soon -- I promise you'll be the first to know. Mayo will get back to me with financial aid package and if I like that (I can't imagine I won't) I will drop. But I just would really like to have the choice between my top two...even if its only for a day.

By the way, do you know if they ever inform us of movment on the UW waitlist?
 
99.9%...I'm gonna check out Cornell this weekend but I doubt that it will beat out OHSU. Definitely an insanely difficult decision but I've gotta go with my gut. I know all of you on the Cornell waitlist are cheering right now! :)

I work at UCSF and I don't think it has a mascot. I just did a search on its web site and came up with a bunch of articles about how people think it should have one. None of them tell if a decision has been made, though.

And Paisley, I think we're gonna have to come up with a mascot for UCSF... I guess it's not totally necessary, since there's no sports, but how can we go to a school with no mascot? Any ideas?

OK, this UCSF mascot thing was pretty perplexing so I also did some searching on the internet. Apparently, there is no mascot. A few years ago, however, one of the campus newspapers solicited suggestions from students. Some of 'em are pretty hilarious. :)

YOWSERS, my bad...you should be just fine here then, it sure is wearing on me though...just a hint of sunlight please. Regarding your question, Mayo is an amazing place as I'm sure you saw on your visit. As a researcher, I have been able to take advantage of other numerous opportunities (like shadow physicians, and stand in on surgeries in the OR's). A lot of people down in the OR's know me by name, ask me how everything is when they see me, and I'm nothing but a lowly lab tech. It is a family atmosphere where everyone, all the way up to the department heads are willing to help you out. If you can take the weather, and the fact that there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do here in Rochester, you'll be fine. I'm from the city (Chgo) and I am dying of boredom!!!!!!!!!!!!
