anyone been accepted to DO have any pending interviews to MD?

Kind of in a limbo here...i really like western, but i'm not sure about some of my MD interviews coming up. Would it be crazy to cancel them?

Unless it really kills you financially I would say attend your pending interviews. The interviews as much about the school getting know you as it is you getting a feel for the school. You might find you really like it.

And if you get accepted there too you can come back and make a thread on SDN to help you decide between them. You wouldn't want to miss out on that opportunity.

Depends on how you feel about the schools you have interviews with. Western is a really good school, and is one of my targets for next year if my MCAT score isn't high enough. What MD schools do you have interviews at?

Go to the MD interviews, see if you get in. Then you can sit back and reflect on the flexibility that you now have in choosing schools.

Eventually, that freedom of choice allowed me to pick MD over my top choice DO, Western.

My anesthesiology attending attended Western. He completed his ACGME anesthesiology residency at UColo. The kicker? He's older and was a non-traditional student. Times have changed. Attend those other interviews so you have more options for the future.

You owe it to yourself to at least check out the MD schools you think you might like. You never know how a school is going to impress on you until you show up. They did invite you for an interview, after all.

I have a DO acceptance, a MD waitlist, and just attended a MD interview last week.

Go, you won't know until you do what works for YOU

My opinions of all 3 changed after the interviews.

Now I did drop any applications w/o interviews once I got the acceptance except for my top 1-2 schools.

Personally, I only seriously applied to one MD school, USUHS, got an interview, then never finished my security clearance once I got into the DO school I wanted. Being a DO just seems too awesome to me, but I guess it depends on what's important to you.

I've had students in the past do exactly that. Sometimes a bird in the hand is indeed better than two in the bush. You need to ask yourself how good a fit Western is for you, and ditto for its location. If you're comfortable, then by all means pick Western and don't look back.

I felt in love with ATSU SOMA, so as soon as I was accepted I withdrew all other applications, including an MD interview.
