So I went back to an art university I went to for retaking courses for AACOMAS. Will I get in trouble because I applied for a second bachelors so I can get earlier registration, but of course don't plan on completing it?

I'm kinda scared i'm gonna be chilling at my dream DO school and then I get SWAT'ed by the university for not completing a degree.

you don't have to do retakes where you did the first takes.

doing retakes of very-non-science classes is extreme and questionable - you'll be asked why you went back to art school if your goal is med school. you should strongly consider doing upper div science instead. the GPA math is probably about the same.

if a med school doesn't make its acceptance contingent on completion of a degree (typically in the acceptance letter) then nobody's making you complete a degree.

I appreciate your concern. However, retaking these courses will boost my GPA ALOT. These weren't just C's I got :/ I should expect a .3 or even .4 boost. I already show great performance on a premed curriculum. I got straight A's on my first attempts at the premed curriculum (Physics, gen Chem, orgo, bio, etc.). So I just need to bring up my GPA for the sake of numbers. Two of the courses i'm retaking are actually going to be science courses (Chem 101 and electronics).

I'm also going to take biochem 1 and 2 (fall and spring semesters during gap year) and maybe even analytical chem for fun.

You do in fact have to take retakes where you did first attempts if you want to replace the grades during academic update

Didn't complete my second bachelor's and no one cared. My ug advisor is the one who recommended i enroll in it to help with priority registration and they would only let me do 2 terms as nondegree seeking. So get your classes however and apply. Now schools may look a bit it more closely if you are in a doctoral program and not completing it, but ur fine.

So I got in to my old school and got the classes I need. Time for a big GPA bump. I'm retaking:

Poetry workshop- good because it's discussion based and we have to read each others work and critique it, it'll be good since my interviews are coming up.

Chem 101 - lol, just lol...after getting A's on gen chem 1 and 2, orgo 1 and 2 on my first try, this class is going to be hilarious.

Science of Electronics- just some basic circuit building, this isn't for engineering majors but more so just the fundamentals.

The electronics and chem 101 will boost my science GPA ALOT (Kind of ashamed to say what grades I got on these many years ago, but you get the idea), and the poetry will boost my nonscience. I'm gonna throw Biochem 1 in the mix too just so for fun because I really wanna tackle biochem. I was thinking of just doing introductory biochem (not as hard) and retake a C in neuroscience which will boost my science too, but maybe taking the Biochem 1 and 2 sequence would be beneficial for my app.
