Has anyone had experience with this? In my acceptance letter it says I must finish all planned courses. What if something came up where I can't finish all my planned courses. Will they really turn me down for not complete it. I have all prereqs done but don't really plan on finishing my planned courses because I wanted to work so I can actually have money to move. Whats your 2 cents on this?

well, ask yourself what the motivation for this rule is. It seems to be a safeguard against students lying on the application that they'll take such and such classes but end up to not. I think that's the chief motivation for the rule.

Thus, if something comes up that makes it so that you can't the class, it should be okay as long as the reason is legitimate. Of course, you'll have to clear it with the school to make sure they'll accept that reason.

I know at the school that I got accepted they expect that I complete all of the prereqs and that I will complete my degree because I told them that I was going to.

I also got an e-mail that they expect me to update aadsas and send them transcripts when I am done.

hope this helps🙂

I was wondering the same thing, My addsas has different courses thatn what i am taking now and next semester, so I need to make a few calls i think.

same exact problem here... I am in a masters and 2 of the schools I was accepted to require me to finish it. but damn it I don't wanna! I also need to work, my family already shelled out alot just for me to apply, and I think there pockets are getting low.
I actually called Temple... one of the 2, and they said that if it says "Degree expected" on your aadsas or you indicated courses that you plan on taking, you MUST do it, or they could very easily take away your acceptance even after you submit your deposit with no lawful discrepencies...
Sounds crappy but you know what,... U are IN, so do whatever they ask of you so you can STAY in!

Wow...you are in a masters program..tough I bet!!

may I ask what school is this? the schools i got in told me to finish my pre-regs and get my BA/BS

similar situation here. I already have my BS, but on my app planned on taking a spring semester graduate course. It isn't required and I'd prefer to work more hours instead but still wondering if my acceptance is contingent on completing this course. I am going to give them a call.

just called Case....they told me that it doesn't matter if it's different compared to the planned courses on aadsas...as long as you complete your pre-regs and get your BA/BS. About the grades...no substantial drops in grades!
I'm golden!

yea guys which schools require you to finish yor planned courses? Any1 know if UMDNJ does?
I might have a slight problem with that because both science classes that I listed in the planned coursework that I really wanted to take to help me out in dental school are closed and I might not be able to get in unless someone would drop it. Am I going to be screwed?

I am not gonna take ochem lab second semester cuz...
I already fulfilled 8credits by taking 2 ochem class 3credits each and 1 ochem lab 2credits..

I am planning to take anatomy...

Ya i was wondering the same thing....what if the planned coursework is full. Its almost impossible to get into the classes you want at my school, so i was a bit worried about this.

i got a simple solution: Call 'em!!!!!

I called them and got the answer in 30 seconds. Fo Sho!

tell me what's going on after you call...i'm curious about other schools as well😀

When a school accepts you, it is like a contract. They expect you to fulfill your end by completing your courses (and sometimes degree) satisfactorily. In return, you get the privilege of attending their dental school. If you decide not to fulfill your end, the contract may be considered void giving them the perogative to end their relationship with you. This is from someone who is not prelaw, but from someone who has watched many episodes of the Peoples Court.

it depends on the school. i sent an email to mine, and they said it's fine if i don't finish it since it's not a prereq. i still have to finish two more classes that are prereqs though.

it doesn't hurt to ask if you do it right 😉

my letter just told me to finish my prerequ (down with physics!👎 ) and to maintain the same gpa and work ethic as now. it didn't say anything about finishing my ba/bs and then they don't know what classes i am taking next semester as it is. but i agreee with the above dudes, call and figure it out. the accepted you and they should realize you need money so good luck tissy...p.s wherre did u get accepted to?

In my experience at the university I go to, if a class is full or closed and I wasn't able to get into it, I just go to the class like I'm in it, and sign up officially for it when people drop the class (because they always do).

Me too!I mean, I have my B.S degree;on AADSAS I do not have any degree expected thing;I've been just taking the prerequisites and I'll be done with them this semester; In my planned courses I had put some Histology,..and some other "..ogy" upper division courses which are not required by the school that has accepted me.So, what do you think guys?I was really considering working and saving some money instead of taking classes that I will take next year in dental school anyways.

How about pre req's, eg english, i took humanities, as they dont offer english at my school. what will happen there?
