Accepted Students Background Checks

Does anyone know when we will receive the background checks to fill out? AAMC says they'll be sent out to all accepted students after Jan 1 but I've seen nothing so far.
 
It’s also possible that Certiphi sent you the email and it didn’t go through. Had this problem last year. If you don’t hear anything in a few days, I’d give Certiphi a call.
 
I called today because I haven’t seen any email from Certiphi and they said the schools that accepted me have yet to put in a request. So my guess is just that it’s gonna take a while and they have a lot of applicants to reach out to. We’ll just have to be patient lol

As an update-I received the request today and it was completed in ~2 hours (I’ve only lived in one state). Hopefully you will all get it soon!

I got mine today too. Not complete yet since I have like 10 addresses in a bunch of states.

Wait like they completed your entire background check in two hours?
 
Does anyone know if you already requested a report for yourself earlier this cycle, will you still get the email request again?
 
Received mine yesterday and was complete within an hour. I have lived in only two states
 
I called customer service and their rep told me that I was sent the link on 1/7. I never received the email and it wasn't in my spam folder either so they just sent me another.

If you know other people from a school you've been accepted to have received the background check email already but you haven't, it's probably worth a quick call to customer service.

I told them I'm applying to medical school through AAMC, have been accepted, and have not received the background check email despite knowing other accepted students from the same schools having already received the email.

That's impressive! I filled out every line as well, all one state though - I had to google myself to remember some of them. Good to know it doesn't slow things down too much.

I moved around a lot for the military. As long as your background is clean, it doesn’t slow it down too much. It’s just a couple extra checks they have to do.

I'm international and I've spent only a few years in the US, relatively speaking. The background check should take a bit of more time if you lived abroad. They asked me for a copy of my passport to help them out. Wouldn't worry about the wait for those who lived abroad 🙂
 
Will we get a request for every acceptance? Or just one for the first acceptance?

Okay, I’ have 3 MD acceptances but only received 1 request. Just want to be on top of things and make sure I’m not missing things for the other programs

it is the same company that does the background check. I was worried about it too - have 3 acceptances. Then, when my background check was complete, i was told to review it, and then, when i marked the box that i agreed with everything, it also asked me to confirm that i was to release the report to medical SCHOOLS. so it is just one check, that goes to all the schools you are accepted to.

Schools may have their own requirements too, - keep an eye on that. For example, Drexel wants PATCH, and a few other things.
