Thanks for the input on classes vs. work! I would venture to say Ducks by 10- but i wouldn't put any money on it 🙂 So did everyone get the christmas card from the admissions office? Funny how two months ago i felt nervous/intimidated there and now they're like family 😀 SEASONS BEST TO ALL!!!

no offense taken--Colorado is the hottest team in the country right now, but that is both good and bad. the bad thing is they are the hottest team in the country, the good thing is if, when, we win we will have a legitimate argument for the national championchip title....that is if miami really f#$@! up. That I don't think will happen. Either way it should be a good game.
I am driving down to the fiesta, leaving on the 28th....should be a fun road trip. And I guess I should stay out of vegas, since I am 0/2 on fuessing where people are from. I don't know though, black jack is a completely different game. 😉 Dakotagirl, I would never poke fun of someone from Fargo.....do you still have the accent? You betcha, or not to you betcha. That is the real question.
Jhug, as far as working, I think it would pretty boring doing nothing, and you are going to be taking classes until your blue in the face, so I would work some and spend as much time with friends and family doing all the things that you might not be able to do once we start. Just my 2-cents.
Peace 🙂

The weather was very nice, the new years eve party was excessive, the game was the icing on the cake. All in all I think the trip went pretty well....All I can say is I like the thought of arizona in the winter. Hope everyone had a happy holidays. 😀
Sport- i'm glad you made it back ok!
dakotagirl, when did you interview?? there was a girl from one of the dakotas (i can't remember which) when i interviewed. I know what you mean about the next step thing- i can't believe it's already here!

jhug-I'm from ND but actually am living in Portland, OR right now. I interviewed in October. There was a guy that I met from Provo and he was married? Is that you? I recently got engaged (last Fri)! My fianc? lives in Phx now so I'm anxious to join him. What an adventure it will be!
Well congrats DakotaGirl!!!! So how did you meet if he is in pheonix and you are between DK and OR?
When is the big day?? I am from Salt Lake & interviewed on the 11th so that wasn't me- but i am still just as excited to hear about the engagement!!

dakotagirl,
I also want to say congrats on the engagement. I also want to say that you're right up the road from me. I am in eugene, I am originally from just outside of p-town (portland) and I try to get up about once a month to see family and friends. We should grab some lunch sometime when it's convenient.

Thanks, everyone! Our situation is a little weird with him living in AZ and me in OR. We met in college and that's where we're getting married-Moorhead, MN. It's right across the river from Fargo, for those of you know where that is (or who've seen the movie. Bad movie, by the way)
Sport-it would be fun to get together.
Are any of you living in the student housing? Do you know when they are sending the apps out? Just wondering.

Jhug--Cypress is in southern CA. Its only about 15 min from disney land and huntington beach. It is an awsome area, but I have lived here my entire life, and it will be nice to get out for a few years.

jhug--yeah, you can make it in about 5 without any stops. That is what I did for my interview. My dad and I drove out thursday evening, stayed in a hotel in glendale that evening, and drove home after the interview. It was not bad at all. A beach trip break would definitely be possible. And like I have already posted, I think on another line, my family has a home right on the colorado river, about 2 hrs from the campus. We have a boat and some quads, if I wanted to take some people out there for the weekend, my parents wouldnt mind, and it would be really fun, and quick escape from the books. By the way, I am doing my udergrad at CSULB, I will be graduating this spring BS in physiology, minor in chemistry. My spring semester is going to suck though, 17 units, but I am already in, all I need to do is graduate, and then I have the summer off. Sweeeeeeeet!!
Ry- my wife went crazy at your last post! She was afraid of moving to the desert-- she grew up in a beautiful green part of cali, and salt lake isn't to desert-ish-- anywhay, she was nationally ranked as a water-skier and is dying to know where we could go in AZ. I have heard of other lakes near by as well.

Lake Pleasant is just outside of northwest Phoenix on the way to Vegas. Lots of people go there for waterskiing, jetskiing, boating, and general water fun. Roosevelt Lake is about an hour and a half away from Phoenix. It's bigger than Lake Pleasant, but I'm not sure about renting equipment there. And of course Lake Mead and Lake Powell several hours away. I'm more familiar with Lakes down in southern AZ, but I am sure there are more than that in the northern part.

Ryan, do you fly-fish at all? My fianc? and I have been on the Colorado several times up at Lee's Ferry. The river is full of people either fishing or looking at the canyon walls. It is just gorgeous!
Jhug-there's hope for your wife. Lake Pleasant is really nice, just probably not what she's used to. It was hard for me to imagine a lake without a trees before seeing Pleasant. It works, though.

dakotagirl--Actually, ive never gotten into fly fishing. Probably because the part of the colorado that I am on is more geared toward the boating sports, however, there are some good bass and catfishing spots that my dad and brothers and I have found.
jhug--wow, that is really cool about your wife being a ranked water skier. We will definitely have to see about setting up a trip to the river to do some skiing/wakeboarding. That is if we can pull ourselves away from the books. Haha. By the way, I saw on another thread that you were interested in surgery, just out of curiosity, what route do you want to go? I also have an intense interest in surgery, cardiothoracic if possible. I am kinda between that and the cardiac electrophysiology.

Ry-- i love peds so possibly something in pediatric surgury- also, my dad is a colo-rectal surgeon here in SL, we've laughed about having me take over the practice. He's never ever made me feel he expects it of me but it is a super practice and i can honestly see myself as a proctologist & colo-rectal surgeon.
So has anyone else start on the matriculation process?? I had a nursing student at my clinic draw my titer today and she actually did a good job. I'm starting to get super excited!!!

Jhug,
I have only began to dread tracking down all of my medical records, they are so scattered all over the place. Recently I have been banging my head against the wall over the FAFSA. Has anyone else found the on-line FAFSA app. to be frustrating. It has been a serious headache, and I am not sure why. It has been turtle slow and often will not move from one window to the next...Thanks for letting me vent, I guess the site must have heavy traffic and I will have to do it at like 5 am.
Anyway, Ryan welcome to the group. I like the idea of getting away and water skiing, I have no idea when it would be possible but I am game if anyone else is.
Peace

Hey guys, I have sort of started the matriculation process, I am going to my doc in the next week or so to track down some of my records. Hopefully I dont need too many imunizations, I hate the needle. I know I will need Hep B for sure.
Sport--I have not found the FAFSA to be too bad, Ive only done the first part though, I am still waiting for my tax return. That raises a question for me though.
Too anyone who knows--on the FAFSA, they want info from your W-2 and 10-40, the only problem is, that at my job, I was taxed as an indepedent contractor for most of 2001 which means that I get a 10-99 instead. My employer did this until about October, and then my tax status was changed to employee. So now I will be getting a 10-99 and a W-2. How does this work on the FAFSA?
