Anyone know a good ratio between the two? MSAR has matriculated but doesn't say anything about the number accepted.
Any information would be great! Thanks

You can get a copy of the US News and World Report's Ultimate Guide to Medical School. Those have accepted numbers. Rule of thumb for me, 1.5-3x number of seats. More prestigious schools have lower multipliers.

This is a great question. Thanks for the response MassTrans.

Thanks MassTrans. Any other responses?

I think the reason you only see the # of matriculants and not acceptance is because most people who matriculate have been accepted at many schools.

I think the MSAR is keeping track of the number of individuals.
So for instance, if X number of matriculants had two acceptances thus the number of acceptances is double the number matriculants; however, there are still only X number of people with acceptances. Therefore knowing the number of acceptances and keeping track of them is not important. This is not the case for all situations, but I presume it is likely very close to the reality of the admissions situation.

The only place I have ever seen these stats is in the USNews book (and I think they are from 2005). You can peruse it at your local Barnes & Noble. Pretty interesting, I think. You can tell which schools people think of as backups based on how many acceptances they must offer to fill a class.
