Does anyone know any accerelated colleges that offers science classes in one or two month period, besides summer classes. life university in atlanta offers one.

The New College in CA http://www.newcollege.edu/ offers something like that. They are WASC accredited but they aren't on the AAMC list of post-bac programs.

Good Luck

check cornell college in iowa, park college in missouri and colorado college.
the courses at life may not meet the requirements of some programs, unless they have changed in recent years.

I'm currently taking all of my classes at an accelerated rate (I started Chem I and Physics I in Jan and finished March 11th - it's really fast paced) here in Dallas, TX ... well technically it's in Irving, TX just outside Dallas but the school is called Northlake College and it's got an excellent science program.

I took classes at Northlake. They offer Chem I & II, Physics I&II, and O-chem I&II (and occasionally Bio I & II) accelerated. You can do two sections of Chem, Bio or physics in Fall or Spring semester.

You can also do 2 sections of Bio or Gen Chem in the summer, this year from June 6th to August 7th.

The science department at Northlake is excellent. People come from all over the area to take the accelerated science classes. They are always packed with premed and post-bac students.

Most of the Science prof's have doctorates and have taught for years.

The accelerated classes at Northlake are one of the best kept secrets among non-trad premed's and kids from the other Texas schools home for the summer.

The only drawback, Northlake is a community college. Just because Northlake is a community college don't think these classes are easy though. They go fast! I thought summer was a bit easier, probably 'cause the prof's seem to be a bit more laid-back in the summer.

It's $33/credit hour in-state and $96/credit hour out of state..

Here is the link: www.dcccd.edu and www.northlakecollege.edu

Go to http://www.ratemyprofessors.com to find out info on the profs (ie. Koaudio, McNeil and Logan)

Agape... 😛

[edit-add:] I checked out Colorado College and Cornell College. If you can afford it they look real cool.... Colorado Springs, wow or Phi Beta Kappa at Iowa)

thanks for all your post, but I don't think downstate or any suny new york state school recommend taking any classes in a community college.
