When I filled out my VMCAS application last year, I seem to recall selecting something that stated that I could have access to my letters of recommendation if I was accepted into a school. Did anyone else choose this option? How do we go about getting them?

Thanks!

Actually, if you clicked the checkbox you waived access to the letters. Access is allowed by default (FERPA) but it is more or less convention that most people waive this access on the application.

so does that mean that we can get copies of our letters from vmcas?

Maybe I didn't waive it then. I just remember choosing to have access to it afterwards since I thought it would be a good idea to have some letters of rec on file for various things.

So how do I get a hold of them?

Perhaps you should contact the people who wrote them and ask them for a copy, especially if you intend to use them again. Just my two cents.
