As the question states, I accidentaly uploaded a different school's update letter to another university's portal post-II. There is a lot of similar language across both letters. The school's secondary portal gave me the option to edit/delete an uploaded document. So, I deleted the document and uploaded the correct update letter.

Will I be looked down upon for:

1) my oversight in uploading the wrong letter/deleting a letter
2) using really similar language across the letters (do they have access to deleted files from the secondary portal)

Edit: they use the AMP portal

This is one of those situations in which the update is unlikely to help, sadly.
At least it wasn't a letter of intent!
I am so sorry, could you expand a little bit about what you mean by that? Like the goodness of the update letter counteracts the badness of my mistake? Thank you!

Sometimes an applicant sends a letter to the wrong school with the name of the other school on the letter of intent. This has a chilling effect on that applicant's chances, as you might imagine.

Yeah, but OP indicated that the portal allowed the letter to be deleted and replaced. What are the odds that anyone actually saw the erroneous letter the brief time it was there? OP - How long was that, anyway?

Amp has a lot of competition these days...
thank you so much gyngyn! to clarify I meant that my portal was on the amp system. do you happen to know how that's stored? is amp specifically standardized? thanks again!

like a couple minutes max

You're probably fine. You pulled the application equivalent of calling a person the wrong name on a date but having them not notice the error
