Hello everyone,

I'm just wondering where can I get a very ACCURATE estimate of my gpa/sgpa without actually turning an application? I want to make sure my sgpa is above 3.00 when my time comes.

thanks

The most accurate estimate of an AACOMAS GPA will be the one you calculate yourself.

If you don't know how to calculate a GPA, that's another story. Just ask. 🙂

Ive been using the Excel file thats made by Lokhtar

the reason why i asked was bcos i just had a nightmare abt my gpa on aacomas turned out to be a lot lower than what I calculated.... 😛

haha i found out a day before my nycom interview that my bcpm gpa was wrong on aacomas. they categorized one of my bio classes as a behavioral science class and i didnt realize until i was reviewing my application for the interview. it sucked because it got me all nervous. hope they dont mess up on yours.

You can go to AACOMAS and start an application. Enter all your courses and grades very accurately and you will see an unofficial calculation of your overall GPA and, I think, your science/non-science and year-by-year. You can do all of this without actually paying and submitting.

AACOMAS screwed up my app royally and it took forever to straighten out. They included a whole year's worth of graduate credits in the undergraduate category. They also failed to account for three of my pre-reqs in the "required credits" section. So, for example, even though both Physics I and Physics II were verified on the transcript they showed only four credits in the physics category (giving me credit for II but not I). They did this with some other classes too. It was bizarre.

Are you sure? Earlier in the application cycle, you could not see your GPA breakdowns until you SUBMITTED, PAID, WERE VERIFIED, AND WAITED ANOTHER 2 WEEKS. Then you could view the PDF that got sent to each school with your GPAs. There was no other way to see the official numbers.

I didn't understand how the application cycle went, so I went onto their website this week and filled out the full application, minus the personal statement and payment. They gave me my GPA calculations and everything.

I only just recently found out that they erase everything and I will have to start fresh when it opens again in June or whenever 🙁

Oh well.

Moral of the story is that you can go to their site today and enter in all your courses to get your calculated GPA.

Where did it show the calculation?

Did the numbers update in real time? (if you added another class, did all numbers immediately adjust?)

If you spot an error with my spreadsheet, please let me know.

The only error I know is if you have a lot of courses in the quarter system, your GPA might be slightly off (usually by less than 0.02). Other than that, I think enough people have used it without any problems.

I'm with Chocolate Bear. I didn't see ANY GPAs until I submitted, paid, and waited.

Maybe they changed the application later on in the cycle?...

Yeah, I'm positive. It was late August or early Sept. when I did this. I sat on my app for weeks while tweaking my statement before I paid and submitted. But as soon as I entered individual courses I could see all my GPAs in real time, before paying.

I did the app in late may, it showed the estimated gpa initially after you entered you coursework info before you submitted, but once you submitted it disappeared, maybe it even disappeared after you saved that section. I did not have access to the numbers again until sometime in July or August when they started posting the pdfs with the official calculations. I remember before that point looking all over the page for the numbers I had previously seen, and could not get them to reappear.

Yeah, now that I think about it I remember trying to go back and check one of the numbers while my app was processing, pre-verification, and I couldn't find it anymore. Maybe they were no longer showing.

Anyway, the point is someone who wants to get the most accurate estimate of their GPA (especially with a lot of re-takes or post-bac or other complications) is probably best off going and starting a mock app and just entering their courses there.
