I suspect this is a non-issue, but I was wondering if you are required in your intern (in my case transitional year) to have a certain number of medicine months, etc. above that listed as the mininum number for the program for dermatology. The only reason I ask is that a current TY (going into radiology oncology) at the school I'm going to has to have at least 9 clinical months to get credit for the year (in the program I'm going to, we have 6 months of electives). I don't know if there are such requirements for derm. The program I'm going to is pretty cush, so I want to make sure that I make the minimum requirements (of course they are ACGME accredited for a transitional year). I've tried to look it up on the ACGME website without any luck.

You can always request extra floor months with your elective time to meet the requirements. (I would ask your TY PD as he/she probably should know this information when it comes to time to assemble your schedule) I'm assuming the majority of your remaining TY months have to be floor/tele/ICU months right? 6 months of electives is a lot!
