Test #1, Gchem # 55. Why cant "b" be an answer? Adding a catalyst will cause the reaction to reach equilibrium faster, also wouldnt it produce more heat in the process? I think im confusing myself with something else... can someone clarify this for me?

Also # 58 and #60... I am not understanding the solution and was wondering if you have other ways or a better explanation for these..Thanks..

#58:

[25 ml MnO4- x 1 mol MnO4-/1000 ml MnO4- x 5 mol Fe2+/1 mol MnO4- x 55 g Fe2+/1 mol Fe2+] / 1.120 g sample x 100 %

ANYONE HAVE ANYTHING FOR 58 AND 60? 😕

For problem 60, you need to first understand what anhydrous means. Then, what ever the difference in weight is going to be, use that to find the mole equivalent for water. Do the same thing for the dehydrated sample weight to get the mole equivalent for copper sulfate. And finally, here's what you'll need to reason:

0.04 mol copper sulfate ---> 0.2 mol water

1 mol copper sulfate ---> ? mol water

which is 1 x 0.2 / 0.04 = 5
