In the EK End of Chapter Chemistry Quiz, one of the answers says that H2SO4 is a stronger acid than H3O+. But I thought H3O+ was stronger? It doesn't really make sense when you think about the stability of the conjugate base, b/c conjugate base of H3O+ is H2O (no negative charge and very stable), but the conjugate base of H2SO4 is HSO4- (although there is resonance here, it still has a negative charge so it can't be as stable as water). Am I missing something here? Why is H2SO4 more acidic than H3O+?
